Now in its second year of production, the LYRIQ is improving with more trim options, enhanced tech, and a more potent powertrain. What's New
By crafting three distinct trims and increasing the tech throughout, Cadillac is making great strides to enhance the LYRIQ. For instance, the top-spec Sport has an aggressive exterior design that includes darkened chrome trim and a unique grille treatment. Meanwhile, the base trim adds a 340-hp single-motor electric powertrain.
Performance
To power every LYRIQ, Cadillac has given the model a 102-kWh battery pack with either rear- or all-wheel drive. Models with RWD feature a single motor that outputs 340 horsepower and 314 miles of range. AWD models add a second motor, upgrading the output to 500 horsepower, although the range is reduced to 307 miles.
Design
From the side, the LYRIQ looks like a typical midsize SUV, but from the front, the model is much more unique. The large front grille offers an imposing yet elegant appearance, while the vertically mounted headlights provide a unique flair not offered in any vehicle.
As for the cabin, metal, and wood intermingle to create a stunning appearance. While the electric motor helps to provide a quiet interior, so does the advanced noise cancellation technology to reduce outside noise.
With all this style, practicality takes a bit of a back seat. The cargo room is small for its class, and there is no integrated storage under the hood.
Technology
Along with a rich-looking interior treatment, Cadillac has given the LYRIQ copious technology to offer a modern yet futuristic appeal. For example, the dashboard is comprised of a massive 33.0-inch curved advanced LED display that serves as both the SUV's infotainment system and the driver's gauge display. The infotainment system can be controlled by a click wheel on the center console, and features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 5G wireless Wi-Fi hotspot. There's also a rich-sounding 19-speaker stereo system from AKG available in higher trims.
Safety
Like other SUVs in the lineup, Cadillac has outfitted the LYRIQ with driver-assistance features such as automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. But for features like the brand's Super Cruise hands-free driving system, this will require a subscription fee.
Trims
Seven trims are available for the Cadillac LYRIQ: Tech, Luxury 1, Sport 1, Luxury 2, Sport 2, Luxury 3, and Sport 3.
